Best bet would be to swap out the dash pad for a 73-80. Then you won't have any issues. I am doing the same thing on my 82' but, I am doing the whole interior 77-80 style

Re: Bezel -Cluster fitment question ?

Probably not a bad idea , but I already have a pad I got out of a 90 burb --in great condition. Could'nt beleive the bone yard owner just charged me 10.00 for it . > not 1 crack or blemish on it. My problem is bolting on the bezel to the cluster housing . Also my guages & tach is already mounted on the cluster which is already installed .

I believe it will work but, you will have gaps (as you have already found out). If you don't mind, use it. If not, sell that dash on here. I think you will find more than a few buyers who will pay much more than you paid for it. Then you can find a 73-80 dash for you to use.
