Question Edelbrock intake

I am thinking about getting an Edelborck performer series intake with egr to go with the performer series carb I just bought. My question is, it has a place to mount an egr, but there is a place next to it to mount something else, looks very similar to the egr mounting place. What is this? Can I block this off, because my stock intake does not have this.

It is prob. the spot for the quadajet choke spring. They make block off plates for them.

Russ,

I answered this question at Chevytalk

The place you see is for a spring heated choke. The intake comes with a plate to cover up the hole.
