Set of sockets 30mm and larger?
Getting an injector out of my 6.2 engine requires a 30mm tool.
My shallow socket is too shallow. My wrench is too big and long to fit in there. So I guess I need a 30 mm deep socket or an equivalent tool. A store near here thinks a 30 mm axle nut socket may do. So I could get the individual piece or a spend more for a socket set with bigger sizes than my current set. Are there other things on these trucks than need sockets bigger than a deep 30 mm socket?

Re: Set of sockets 30mm and larger?
try harbor freight for cheap big socket sets. I needed a 36mm to change out my front wheel bearings on my truck and I just went to autozone and bought the single socket. It was 20.00 but I didn't see the need to get the whole set

The Harbor Freight deep impact socket set has that size and they go on sale for $20 for the set. It is a very nice and strong set... been using them at work on a daily basis for about 5 years now with zero breakage.

are they the pittsburg brand? They seem like a great value at only 20 for the set.

Re: Set of sockets 30mm and larger?
The impact sockets at harbor freight are pittsburg brand. The only issue is they are too thick in some cases. Being thick is why they dont break though. For 20 bucks you cant beat it.

Re: Set of sockets 30mm and larger?
Thanks.
Wanted the work done sooner so went with a 30mm axle nut socket. Was deep enough to take the injector and worked fine. Will keep a lookout for the harborfreight sale

Re: Set of sockets 30mm and larger?
I"ve had to do that a few times,, paying 12-20$ for a SINGLE socket..
Ive bought some metric sets only to find out they skipped a socket and had to go back and buy back that indvidual one as well...
