'67-'72 Glamour trucks

Did anyone know that are trucks are called Glamour trucks. With a name like that we should paint our trucks pink with gold glitter on the dash.:] My buddy ran across these links looking for info and parts for his '59 Apache Panel.I like the name they gave the '55 2nd series-'59 "Task Force"trucks. That's a tough name.Check these links out.

Some folks actually have!

It was in 1967, the peak of the musclecar era that Chevrolet pickups made the major transition from being utilitarian workhorses to stylish "personalized" pickups. Sales were oriented to younger buyers and the redesign both looked better and, if you ordered the top of the line engine, you could outrun almost anything, and do it as comfortably as in a truck as your neighbor did it in his 396 Chevelle. Chevrolet pickups were redesigned for '67, offering air conditioning, power steering and brakes, an expanded range of engine choices including the larger displacement big block. For the first time ever in 1967, industry wide, V8 engines outsold six cylinder engines. The new 1967 Chevrolet pickups were referred to as "a new concept in personalized pickups." hence the term Glamor Truck.
