LMC Step Bars
Thinking about putting on some sort of step bars... Found LMC makes a basic step for the pickups, question is will they fit/look good on a K5?
Anyone used these or have any pictures? |

Re: LMC Step Bars
You have a rocker box in the way. Not sure if it will work on a Blazer. That said I have seen steps (not sure if they're LMC steps) on Blazers before.

Re: LMC Step Bars
You'll need to fabricate the mounting, but it can be done. There are a few board members with steps on their blazers.

Re: LMC Step Bars
Called LMC and they didn't have any tech-help available. Do these bars bolt to the frame or the floor somehow?
It would make sense that they bolted to the frame. Anybody with pictures? Thanks! |

Re: LMC Step Bars
From what I've seen, most of these mount to the floor. The problem is first gen Blazer have torsion boxes (often called rocker boxes) behind the rocker panels that add structural rigidity to the body when the top is off. They make mounting things like steps difficult.

Re: LMC Step Bars
If it were me I would go to an offroad type fab shop and have them build a set of steps (if you aren't inclined to fab yourself). They would be strong and unique.

Re: LMC Step Bars
Got on my back this evening and see that there are holes with threads in my torque boxes?
Four in total on each side, looks like they would be spaced about right to bolt up some steps... Or are these holes for something else? Anyone else have a set of these? [IMG][/IMG] |
