Lift kit, torsion bar?????

ok, i'm putting in a 6" suspension lift in my 2001 gmc. before i took it apart the directions said to mark the torsion bars before romoving them. now, i had them marked but then i took all of my suspension components in to get powder coated and now the marks are gone. i had both ends marked, the lower A-arm and the torsion key. so my question now is, how important is it to have them put back in the EXACT way they came out. cuz now i have no clue.

Re: Lift kit, torsion bar?????

the biggest thing to remember when installing a torsion bar is to get the proper bar in the right end. torsion bar are made to only twist one way, put them in backwards and you can snap them. as long as they go back into the sides they came out of and the proper ends into the control arms your cruising
