hes asking $310 prbblly take $250...keep in min tat 2 of them are 10"wheels and they are truck rallies not car..he's a little high but then again the come with trim rings and the center caps and need zero work....so $60 eah isn't bad considering what vintage whels gets for a new one

From the ad: "(4) Beauty Rings Included....No Caps.....5x5 Bolt Pattern....."

I dunno what your definition of "zero work" is, but I see a LOT of scratches (that may be covered by the trim rings but will still promote rust) as well as quite a bit of rust on at least one of the rims (third one down in the pic below).

Re: Smokin' deal for rallys on craigslist!

I just ran those through Summit's website. The set of 4 wheels brand new runs 290 dollars. That's for a pair of 8s and a pair of 10s.

So you have 290 dollars for the wheels new. He wants 310 dollars for the wheels (used) and trim rings.

This hillbilly won't bite on a deal like that. My rule for buying used parts is 50 percent of new cost, max.

Good point. I was thinking about getting a set either like these or the truck rallys (haven't decided yet). I don't know why I didn't think to check Summit for prices. But $290 for a set of 4 isn't a bad deal. Any way, I agree asking more for used, rusty parts just because you are throwing in some beauty rings is, well for lack of a better term in my mind, Retarded.

This ole hillbilly dont bite on that neither he!! it took me 4 swap meets to get all the wheels for my longhorn. I got 1 new van take off for 25 bones(6 1/2 wide for the front). Then I got an 8" NOS for 40 bones. Played the bull**** with one dude on a pair of 8"ers.....he had 3 & 1 was clearly bent. The pair that I walked off with, were good(1 had never been mounted on the truck! You cant bend the spare(50 bones for 2 wheels) The trim rings dont mean chit, he!! , I have 10 bones in 4 boneyard rings. crazyAL

Re: Smokin' deal for rallys on craigslist!

I bought the same set of wheels brand new off of ebay a few years ago with caps and rings for a little over 300 shipped. I didn't want to mess with cleaning up a set of rims and the risk of getting a bent one. Plus, I think the 6 lug ones I bought are "custom" so it would probably be rare for me to find a used set. Original corvette rallys were only in the 5 lug car pattern, I believe. Anything else is aftermarket. It's easy to find a set of truck or van rallys, just go to a junkyard.

Re: Smokin' deal for rallys on craigslist!

I had just bought a set of rallies for my 67 4 wheel drive and gave 125.00 for 5 / 6 hole rims 4 of them with good 31/1050's on them with all the beauty rings and caps. Of corse i will sit around and wait till i can find a deal before i buy. It might take me awhile to find the parts i need but i save a lot of money that i dont have anyway.

That's my rule too.

However, when I sold my corvette, I de-modded it and sold my headers/exhaust for what I paid for it, and my wheels tires for $400 less than I paid after 20k miles......I think I did pretty good on those parts
