Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
Where in Brasil are you? I work for Bosal and we have a plant in Itupeva. I've been there a few times and I love the trucks you have in Brasil. I've got to do some digging but I may have a finished shot of a truck like yours from about 2005. Way cool and welcome! More pics!!

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
oh, thank you ...I Live in São Paulo, near to Itupeva. Until 1958, our trucks were imported from USA, in 1958 GM started a home production, and a totally diferent design from your trucks, so our 59 is really diferent from yours...I will post more pictures soon..!!

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
Excellent. One of the guys at the plant has a son with a 60's Chevy Impala. There are some great trucks in your area. I love seeing the old AD chevy 2 tons with wide white walls on them in Sao Paulo!

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
Welcome! How cool is that. I didn't know GM made different noses in the countries they exported to. Styling clues are there in the hood, etc. Almost looks like they were trying to make is like a El Camino or Aussy Ute. Keep posting more.

Orrie, it isn't an export. GMBrasil made the trucks there starting in 1959.

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
This is a totally sweet looking truck. I wasn't aware that GM in brasil looked after their own styling and design. I recognize the dash bezel, but that's about all they have in common with the north american ones. I like it!!

This truck will be very nice to see done. If somebody here in the states showed up to a car show with one of these it would blow some minds! Welcome and remember to keep pics coming.

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
It great to see the different Chevy trucks that were built outside the US. It looks like they took left over parts from various years of production and put them all together. BAM! You ended up with a new truck and used up old inventory at the same time. Looks like a WIN/WIN for GM.

Re: 59 Chevrolet Brasil
The front fenders have a recess all around the wheel opening!
I wonder if that was to make up for a "too narrow" front axle? And those rear fenders are kind of flat, too cool! You know, that bed wouldn't be too hard to fabricate from sheet steel, you just have to find some of those rear fenders to complete the look. Keep up the good work and keep searching for the correct parts. |
