Re: Favorite Parts store?

NAPA, it is the only parts store in town. If there were more stores it would be whatever store carried my parts.

Re: Favorite Parts store?

When I lived in KS, I would usually go to Oriely's cause the guys at the store I went to were pretty knowledgable.

Now that I live in WA I go to Napa (since up until recently we didn't have Oriely's....but now Oriely's has bought Schucks....but I still won't go there....they don't know anything if its not in their computer).

I go to Autozone for some things cause they're usually a little cheaper than Napa. (I also get 10% off at Napa with a local discount card)

Re: Favorite Parts store?

Carquest
Napa,
Kragen/O'reilly's

I prefer Carquest but when it comes to getting something like a gasket set I will call around to see what the best price is. When I was getting to put the engine in my 94, I went to Kragen for the Head gasket set since it was $ 20 bucks less even with my 20% off discount compared to Carquest... And when I needed to replace the Oil Pressure Sending Unit, it was still 1/2 the cost at Kragen.. But for most stuff I go to Carquest.. Even better service versus the Napa I used to work at.

HTH,
Charlie

X2. However, we do have a Lordco Auto Parts nearby that delivers here twice a day. (B.C. chain that specializes in speed equipment and custom stuff).

NAPA

Not the cheapest but they are the only one that is in every state and since we travel all over using the Chevy as my tow vehicle we can get any warranty replacement anywhere.

Re: Favorite Parts store?

U pull it, Its like going to wal-mart, you go in for one thing and walk out with a wheelbarrel full
but Id have to say o reillys too, theyre 3 blocks from the house so if my family takes the car while im under the truck, I can walk to the parts store and also theyre real friendly and hook me up when I'm a few cents short, no problem

Re: Favorite Parts store?

I use multiple stores depending on the specific part im buying. Some brands hold up better than others or have a better chance of working out of the box.

I like Star Auto parts (I think they are the same thing as Advance, they carry Partsmaster parts). Carquest is my second choice. I buy oil and antifreeze at Autozone

Re: Favorite Parts store?

I use my local NAPA for 2 reasons. 1) They sponsor Drag Racing 2) They have a lady in there that knows more then most of the guys that work there.

The store that has my part...

Actually just back from Autozone, since they are closest.
My local Napa is good for diggin up parts for me, just as long as I go to the commercial counter. The regular counter people just piss me off.

Re: Favorite Parts store?

I get most of my parts from a small local store called Thompson's Auto Supply. They rareley don't have what I need, and they've been in business for over 50 years. The only downside is they're not open on Sundays,so then I go to one of the 2 Napa's in town.I've never been inside of an Autozone or Advanced Auto even though they're popping up everywhere

Re: Favorite Parts store?

Antioch Parts Depot; local, my family owned CarQuest store. They take real good care of me.
My second choice is NAPA.
I used to go there all the time until some kid, that was barely past squirtin' green in his 3 cornered skivvies, gave me a ration over a return (NAPA Balkamp wires, lifetime warranty).
He's no longer there.
Kragen (O'Reilly's) for fluids & chemicals, & stuff they can't hardly screw up.
