My 65k original mile 72

I have had this truck for 13 years. It had 50k miles on it when I bought it from the original owners. The carb started giving me some problems so it has not been driven much in the last few years. So, I had Chipflyer restore the carb on it and I got here back on the road again. I cleaned and wax it yesterday. Thats the original paint and interior. The only things I have changed are the wheels and hub caps (it came with split rims and white hub caps), I added the rear bumper, added a tilt, tach, and am/fm radio. Its a 402bb/turbo 400 with cold factory A/C. Now I just need to take it on a road trip!!

Whoa, that reminds me of my best friends' sister buying a '69 Chevelle SS396 from Hicks Bros. Chevrolet brand new. She drove the heck out of it and had all kinds of "warranty" issues. They got to the point of not wanting to see her show up and started giving her the cold shoulder. Whoops, wrong person to mess with! She spray painted this yellow Chevelle with the words "I bought this LEMON at Hicks Bros. and it's not because of the color!" then parked it across the street. To appease her, they took the car back and she got to order a new '70 Monte Carlo (they insisted it be an automatic tranmission) 350/300hp, buckets, posi, all buckskin...fast car. I recall my Dad being so pissed that because of claims on engines, clutches, transmission, rearends, Chevrolet had to drop their warranty down to like 24 or 36 months.

Nice truck!

Great looking truck. What brand of wax did you use to get the 38 year old paint shining as it does?

SWEEEEET!!!! Now put it on some 20's, shave the door handles, shave the gas tank and put it under the bed and install airride and a Porterbuilt DM and it will go from being a sweet ride to an awesome ride. Just kidding!!! That is a beautiful truck you have there. Even though I like all of the previously mentioned, I wouldn't change a thing on this truck.

Re: My 65k original mile 72

The next best thing about any of these trucks are the stories about where they came from, and who bought them and at what dealership delivered them. If your pickup has a original metal dealer plate attatched to it by all means keep it with the truck. It will mean a lot to the next owner even if you don't want it on the truck now.....

Joe I hate you. **shaking head in disbelief**

that is such a clean truck. you must have had it in the detached garage last year when I came over. glad I didn't see it in person, you might have had a hard time getting me to leave. next time, I get a tour of the detached garage too!!!!

hope to see you at some swap meets this year.

again, beautiful truck. thanks for posting pics.

Love, love the all original trucks! Yours being what it is just makes it so much better. I could spend all day just sitting in it, walking around, laying under it, and just taking in everything that typically gets vandalized.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

I grew up in NY, so even when I was a little kid in the mid/late 80's, I NEVER got to see these trucks in "nice" original condition, even in SC now a days, it's almost impossible to find one that nice. Don't change a thing
