Idea's for capping filler hole in cab

I moved the gas tank to the back between the frame rails. I need to cover up the hole that was left in the cab, please share ideas.

Re: Idea's for capping filler hole in cab

What ever you do,,,,,, Do not cut the filler neck off of the tank and put it back in the hole. . My sone did that and loaned the truck to a good freind of his. Problem was he forgot to tell his freind.... His freind tried to fill the truck with gas. and when it started flowing out from under the door, he figured it out. . Needless to say the truck got new carpet and ran around with coffee grounds all over the floor to get rid of the smell. WES

Re: Idea's for capping filler hole in cab

you can buy the sheet metal cut out (like above).... you can then weld it on, or I saw an episode way back on the trucks tv show about patch panels and alternatives to welding.

I think they used fiberglass resin to bond the patch to the sheet metal. I always thought this was cool for a diy, but I personally have not tried it so I have no feedback on this.

You could also fit it with a tube and drain and use it to "french" an antenna into.
