Cheaper by the pound!
I hauled off a Dodge Dakota today for scrap and spotted a 69 stepside sitting off to the side. I'd asked the guys to keep an eye out for them for me so I walked over and checked it out. It had a few decent parts but the only thing I really needed was the drivers door. Some rust in the bottom corners, but the inside bottom was solid, so fairly easy fix. For .15 cents a lb. I can fix alot LOL. Also got the top hinge I needed, all for a total price of $12.

that's why it actually pays to frequent salvage yards!! good score.

Only problem with our local scrap yards is they either won't sell anything off the yard or they are owned by local junk yards so you get to pay junk yard price for something that is going to be turned into scrap.

Theres a new scrap yard near me and I asked if they ever get any of our trucks in if he would let me know. He said he would let me know when anything comes across and give me a call. I hope something shows up.
