lowering 71 c10
i went to a local rod shop to see what it would cost to lower my truck. The quote was only 1500-2000. Thats all. I know I can get a kit from early classic enterprises for around $500. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to install a lowering kit.

wow, thats a lot for a drop. but a good deal if its bags
 how low do you wanna go? my friends wanting to drop his 72' 3/4 he'll be using spindles up front and 2" springs and 2" blocks in the back |

It's not that difficult to do. Sometimes the hardest part is getting those crusty old nuts off. If you have some mechanical ability you could do it.

yeah i'd do it yourself, save a ton of cash and learn a bunch in the process

A complete kit from them might be more than u think. I belive its like $899.00 or so. shock relokaters, panhard bar kit etc.

If you are doing spindles, springs, shocks, pan hard bar, & shock relocators......I would agree with crazy 4 chevs, you could have $800-1000 in parts. if you find a mechanic in your area that does a little "sideline work", you can probably get the labor for a couple hundred bucks.....crazyL

you better get gold plated springs and spindles for that price. if you are only lowering it a few inches, you don't need much at all to lower the truck. you can do it yourself and spend your money on other parts.

I'll have to agree with brad...it was hell trying to get the bolts out of the spring cups in the rear of my truck. I snapped on trying to get it to break loose. Of course I had a 3 foot long pipe on the end of my wrench. I would suggest getting some extra nuts and bolts for the rear spring cups....
