Hello From Northern Nevada (Reno)

Hi all, Im Steve! I'm amazed it took me this long to find this site. All but two of my vehicles have been 73-91 GM trucks.

My first at age 16 was a '78 K20 Longbed 350/T400/205. It had 5" of springs and 33" BFG AT's. 3 weeks after buying it, it threw a few connecting rods through the pan and dad and I put a Vortec head 350HO in. I sold that about a year and a half later to a friend of my Dad's who still has it.

The '85 3/4 ton GMC Suburban was next. Power everything, barn doors, rear a/c, 350/T400/203C. I did a lot of alarm and stereo system work as well as 6" lift and 35" BFG AT's. It was red/silver. Sold it to a gold miner from Cresent Valley, NV after I didn't drive it at all for 8 months (when I bought my first new car, a Honda Accord)

when I really began to miss the 'Burb, I found a local guy (aquaintance of mine from a former job) had done about 75-80% of the work on my next truck and he really wanted to be done with it!

It was a 1990 V3500 Crew Cab Fleetside, "The Ghost" as locals called it. Originally a 6.5 diesel, the entire truck was body off restored and changed over to 454. Most of the work had already been done, but a lot of finish work was still needed! I finished the interior with all new carpet, upholstery, head liner, door panels, and as much as I could do with the dash. I had the gauges rebuilt and painted, new needles even! I never got to do very much stereo work, but I had more important stuff to do! The truck got all new body, paint, Line- X liner, trim, grille, headlights/bezels, new factory bumpers, 6" springs, 35" BFG Muds, fully painted and undercoated bottomside. This truck wad a pavement prowler and a tow rig only! It was cherry! I loved that truck and it was sooooo rare in my region! Soon after finishing a majority of the work, I was forced to sell it! I couldn't get rid of the Honda and I had people leaving notes and business cards daily asking me to sell it! So I was forced to sell it (at a profit) and I regret it everyday still! The worst part of all of it is, I still have to see it around town and it kills me because the guy who owns it, knows how rare it is, but doesn't take care of it like it should be!

I am still looking for another V3500 passively and when the right one comes along, I'll likely buy!

Now I have moved into the new GM SUV's, I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS AWD and before I pulled the motor, it made 607awhp and 675lb ft of torque. Out at Fallon, it ran a best of 11.520@120.586mph. It weighs 5120lb with me in it! It is the fastest AWD trailblazer in the country and the 7th fastest overall!

I pulled the motor and I'm building an all forged internal LS2 for it now and hoping it will make 925 crank hp with my D-1SC Procharger at 17psi. The SS is getting too crazy to drive daily, so I need something to drive and enjoy and tow the SS to the track and the boat to the lake if I want to!

I look forward to getting to know everyone here, sharing information, and hopefully I can find a replacement for "The Ghost"!

Here are a couple videos of my Trailblazer...

Hey Evil!! Welcome to the site from Spanish Springs.

And, beware guys, Mr. Evil is SERIOUS about the fast Trailblazer. I've seen him run at RFR!!! I'd like to see that again, 'specially against the OTHER T/B you ran against. Those dang things are impressive!! (But, how well do they tow????) You running again this year?

Anyhow, welcome again. See ya 'round the S'ghetti Bowl!!

Re: Hello From Northern Nevada (Reno)

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yes, I've had some awesome rigs especially for only being 26, but I love my GM Trucks!

I will be running the Trailblazer this year, I'm actually building the motor right now, so I should be making 925 crank hp and that should be sufficient to get my pig into the 10's up here!
