latemodel seats in an 85

just messed around with fitting a seat out of a 1998 chevy truck into my 85. right now they are just halfway in. i just removed the rails from my 85 seat and put them on the outside of each parts on the newer seat so i could bolt them in the truck and situate them. still alot of work to get them right but at least they are in and somewhat strait.

pics

if ya look in the window u can kind of see how they sit in the truck related to the rest of the truck. my head does lay on the headrest so i sit somewhat low in the truck, but i like it that way.ridin low in a high truck haha

Nice. That's what I need right there. I hate not having an arm rest.

Re: latemodel seats in an 85

I was wondering how hard it would be to fit a bench seat from an f150 in my 87' 4x4.

I looked at this too, but after measuring, the ford seats are like 5-6 inches narrower than the chevy seats!

Oh ok. To bad there isn't a list of seats that will fit into these trucks.

Is all you had to do was swap the rails from your old seat?

Re: latemodel seats in an 85

so far thats all i have done. but because its a split seat and the original was a bench i need to make up some mounts to hold the inner side of the passenger seat up. also the stock rails mounts are too long for the newer seats so only the front bolt lines up, so im gonna make up a plate for the the back of the seat to bolt up to the rails.
