? gear ratio
Need info. on gear ratio on a 67 1/2 ton.
What do I look for? Where do I look?

If your truck has the Dana 44 rear axle it will be on a tag unless someone has removed it. Otherwise, get the stamped number off the top passengier sid axle tube ~6" from the pumpkin. Or post what motor your truck came with. Most likely it has 3.73. You can pull the cover and look for the ratio numbers stamped on the ring gear (39:11, 41:10 or something similar.) After 35 years it probably needs a fluid change anyhow...

Not on ring gear. What kind of number will be there?

I can tell that the rearend is 12 bolt and is 6 lug.
I there any axel, [that will fit] to make a 5 lug?

Just count the teeth on the drive gear, and the driven gear, and divide the two...that'll get you your gear ratio.

if you take the bed off there is a set of numbers on top of rear end to the passenger side of the pumpkin if you get that number i can tell you what it is

If you have the cover off, rotate the ring gear slowly. Somewhere around the edge you will see a part number, a manufacturing date, and the number of teeth on the ring gear and the number of teeth on the pinion gear. Similar to what I put above. Do the math (41/10=4.10 therefore a 4.10:1 ratio, the pinion turns 4 times for every one revolution of the ring gear.) Every gear set has these numbers. Without fail.
