Turn signal switch installation?

Does anyone have a write up how to get the job done? Pics would be amazing but anything will help! My 84 needs replacement but I dont know where to start!

Chevy noob here.

Yo! This will get you there and back,...

Otherwise, the switch is screwed into place, and the wires run down the column to a plug. Loosening the wire cover makes it easy to slide the wiring out, and back into place. This '73 - '81 should be VERY similar to your '84.
