Door latch area repair???

The screw/bolt holes in my 67 drivers door are torn out. Does someone I've over looked make a replacement/patch panel. My doors are in great shape other than that. Thanks in advance!

Re: Door latch area repair???

Blazer doors have a reenforcement panel that works really well for repairing the door latch area. Just weld the patch right over the area. I am not sure if they are available as aftermarket or not. I got mine off of scrap Blazer doors.

If you could find some donor doors and cut the area out, you could weld the patch back in. It's really not that difficult if you can weld.

Re: Door latch area repair???

I really wanted to know if anyone made a patch panel for that area. I have looked everywhere I knew to look and was coming up short. If anyone has some crappy doors with good latch areas, let me know I would like to buy them. I can't really drive my truck when the door won't stay shut!!! HA HA!

That's what bungee cords are for!
That's what I did for years...

Seriously though, I had the same thing happen on my 3rd door.
I had to cut that section out from a bone yard donor door, welded the patch piece in after cutting the messed up section out.
Today, it looks and works like nothing ever happened to it.
