Reproduction Body Questions

I have found many places for panels, all but one in the USA. I am in the market to order all panels minus the cab for my 68. I am curious as to which companies to stay away from and which are my best bets as far as pricing/quality/fit and most of all price(total price with duty fees and shipping to northern alberta canada). I have zero interest in NOS parts as I'm not going for a stock rebuild and it would be a shame to waste them, and used good panels aren't easy to come by due to my location. thanks for any help

Re: Reproduction Body Questions

Yeah he runs in about $6500 for all the parts I'm looking for and they're great to deal with, even for my father in laws '49, I'm just hoping to bring that number down a bit so I don't grind to a hault soon

Re: Reproduction Body Questions

just make sure to get Tri-plus or Keyparts branded parts...not Made in Taiwan. While some overseas parts are fine, I haven't seen any of the Taiwan fenders, rockers, etc fit at all. While many have GREAT success with the Tri plus parts

Re: Reproduction Body Questions

VA72C10, your frame was blasted and you painted it with POR15 and it turned out deadly, did you spray or brush it?

Re: Reproduction Body Questions

The shortbed frame was done by 1972SuperCheyenne. From the way it looks, I believe he sprayed it but I've heard that it goes on well being brushed and actually evens out so you can't tell it was brushed on...

I did my longbed with spray rustoleum in a can in a hammered finish and actually like the way that looks just as much or better than powdercoated frames...
