My Finished 68 Stepside
It's been 6 1/2 years in the making, and I finished it a little over a week ago.( But we all know they are never finished) This site has been very helpful ,and I only wish I had found it earlier. It's Wintermint green, powered by a 406 with a roller cam, alum heads, etc, etc, 9"Rear with a brace, with good parts inside, turbo 400, and 4 wheel discs. Inside it has a custom Ultra-leather interior with buddy buckets and custom headliner. It's been a labor of love and money, and I'd like to thank all who have had kind words and helpful advise! This is a great site with a great bunch of people! Here's some pics. I'm open to constructive critizism, just be nice!

Re: My Finished 68 Stepside
Great job! Everything looks great to me. The only thing I would change would be to lower it a little more, but thats my personal preference. Love the bed wood and headliner!

Mr Big,
Very nice work! Lots attention to details. Let's see more pics. One question, you have a radio delete plate with an antenna, got a hidden radio somewhere? I would go with a shorter or no antenna. Just my .02........Flat67 |

Re: My Finished 68 Stepside
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a beautiful truck!!! Doesn't it feel good to be able to cruise in it now...after all that blood, sweat & tears? No criticism here, my friend.

Re: My Finished 68 Stepside
Super Nice!!! Love the color!!!
Is that a aftermarket cowl hood? I ask because I have a Goodmark on my '67 and it doesn't sit down over the fenders nearly as nice as yours.

Re: My Finished 68 Stepside
Thanks to all for the kind words! I also think I need to bring the rear down a couple of inches. The antenna is there because I originally intended to have some tunes, but kinda changed my mind, and I didn't have time to re-do the cowl. It ran 7.86 at 85.95 last Wed night at the local 1/8th mile strip, first time out. It won Best of show at the local Quaker Steak & Lube the next night, and Best GM the next night at another local car show. It's alot of fun to drive, very streetable, and it makes alot of people smile. Here's some more pics:

Big Snook, Looks fantastic man. Just awsome!!! Mabey I'll catch ya at Sunshine sometime, or quaker state.....It would be awsome to see your ride in person. The chrome wheelwells look killer against the wood floor and fresh mint paint, I really like the way the bed looks.....Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
