Re: another frame question
I don't know as it is possible to do with good results......at least not without a ton of work. The '88 and up frames are a lot different than the earlier frames. I've got 30+ years fabrication experience and I wouldn't bother with it myself. Just find your self a '72 and earlier frame if your original frame is unuseable.

Re: another frame question
theres nothing wrong with the frame i have now. when i go to put my v8 in it how do i mount my trans crossmember? the frame gets really narrow where the drive shaft goes threw and there looks to be alot of little stuff right before the x member that i can get rid of. do you know the stuff im talkin about? if not ill post up a pic this afternoon.

Re: another frame question
Even though I haven't worked on many '60-'62's I'm well aware of what you're talking about. It is possible to put an auto trans in those frames. A lot of guys do, but the crossmember will likely have to be made. I know that Markb01 has pisted pics of his original auto trans crossmember here somewhere. You might send him a PM and see if he can show you where it is. That will at least give you an idea what needs to be done. Fabbing a trans crossmember and a few other things is a heck of a lot less work than trying to change to a frame like the '88 and up frames......or even the '73-'87's

Oh yes I do remember. I've been working on these trucks about that long as well. Back then they were pretty much overlooked. Years ago I was real pleased with what i had figured out would work. Now it is not so much of a mystery

Re: another frame question
I just built a crossmember for my son's 61. We are installing a TH350 behind a 350. I will get some pictures and measurments tonight.
