350 Trans vs 7004

I have a guy that will give me a 7004R Trans out of a 2000 police car. What would I need to do to make this work in my 72 Chevy truck SWB? Or should I stay away or will it even work?

well that depends is it a 700r4 or a 4l60. they have different plugs and the
4l60 is electronic shift. i though they stopped using the 700r4s in 92. but i could be wrong.

I think green white is correct. If its out of a 2000 I think it be the 4L60E, which will require a TCI trans control unit. Not a big deal, and then you can tune the tranny from your laptop to do what you want (ie: shift pressure, RPM, Kickdown, ect.) If I was doing a overdirve swap, that is what I would use!
