first i dr.opped it traditionally with springs, spindals, blocks. Next i cut the drop spings in the front. Then i cut the front cross member and slid it up in the frame two inchs. Then I narrowed the stock a arms an inch and a half per side. Then I c notched the frame in front for the steering to clear. Then I built new motor mounts 2 inches up. then I built a new trans crossmember to clear the three inch exhaust and move trans up. Then I built a new trailing arm mount to clear three inch exhaust and to keep from hanging below the frame rails. Then i z'd rear frame 4 1/2 inches and then did an in the frame c notch, Then changed the shock mount cross member. Now i have a one inch rake and a 26.5 front tire and a 32 inch rear tire while achiving the look I wanted.

Details on how you shortened the front a-arms. Did you do 1.5" each side or total? I'm in the process on shortening mine right now and just curious how others are doing this. Nice ride!

1 1/2 per side it took i think 18 cuts per side on the top ones, and i think it was 14 cuts on the lowers. after they were all pulled back together and welded, i welded some 3/4 solid rod to the underside of the a arms simialar to a tube a arm just fit to the a arm.

to cut them i drew 2 lines parrallel to the cross shaft that were n 1 1/2 apart paying atention were the less pulling would be then i drew 3 lines perpedcular to the cross shaft and you use those lines as refrence points when you are putting the a arm back together. I probably did it the hard way but i want the guy that knows these trucks to look at it after you told him what you did and say (where). You look at them and you cant tell unless you know a measurement or you had an unaltered a arm in your hand. I'm going to get a picture and post it for you. It took me about 4 1/2 hrs per a arm to cut and weld back together

Appreciate the detailed response. That's exactly how I pictured doing mine. No easy way around it if you want them to look good. Pretty cool they still look factory. Would love to see some pics. Thanks man!

Well next on the list is to finish the dash and get it in the truck (57 ford streched and filled with auto meter sport comps) then i'm going to drive it every day and slowly work on rockers and cab corners. I have a new roof for it due to the rust and the fact that i have got to chop the roof 3 1/2" achiving 2 1/2" by laying the windshield back. that way i am only taking an inch out of the windshield. I work at a rod shop and we chop stuff so i have got to chop mine. But i have all new doors, front fenders, bed, hood. so i am going to do all of my sheet metal massaging and body work, and in primer and blow the truck apart and do my fitment on the truck. Then the infamous paint job that i am on the fence about.

I am running rear axle out of my 68 sub which is 1 1/2 narrower than 72 rear. yea i converted it to six lug and put my five lug stuff on my sub. The wheels are american racing, don't know a model, they were dirt cheap. rear tires are 305/50/20 32"/ 12" I am that kind of pro street / gforce guy. i wanted a 40 in the front rather than a 35 but it's ok. I guess i will have to do alot of scca racing and wear out those front tires so i have a reason to buy some new ones.
