factory guages

i switched dash panels from an idiot light to a factory guage panel. i changed the wires in the connector to new locations and installed new sending unit. im having problems with the temp guage. it works but reads too high. shows im running hot when i know im not. this panel also has a warning light for high temp that isnt being used. im guessing this could be the problem. the light bulb could change the resistance in circuit. there is only 1 green wire that feeds guage. pin #6. #5 that fed light on old guage is left open. anyone with original factory setup know how to wire both? what models came with factory guages?

Re: factory guages

We just fitted one of these to a car with a late sender and early gauge and it solved the problem, will only work on a gauge that reads too high.

This is what we fitted it too....
