Correct color For Hood hinges and latch - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I know it doesnt matter much but i was wondering what color would be correct for the hood hinges and the hood latch for my 1968 chevy c10.
I'm "trying" to keep it orignial.

I cleaned up the hinges and they almost look like a dark gray ? Not sure on the hood latch though.

Any thoughts ??

They have some type of a dark grey semi-flat coating, like maybe an oxide treatment of some kind. It has a texture to it, too. I replicated it pretty well by painting them first with semi-flat black Krylon. Then I used various greys & silvers and just very lightly dusted from very far away. That gave the grey tones, and also created the texture & Matte finish.
Here is a pic (not great) of how it turned out.

I think the hood hinges and latch assembly on my 68 were both unpainted.
