I6 haz waboe's now

For 56,000 miles and 30 years the secondary on the carburator has never opened until today. I've driven this truck for a grand total of less tha 300 miles. Yesterday I took it for a ride through the mountains and nearly every hill I was dropping down into second (Auto Turbo 350). No power to speak of going up the hills but yet it would readily drop into passing gear. So I decided to check the setting of the throttle presssure cable. The kick down cable was at full throttle pressure at the end of the primary on the carb, therfore ending the travel of the throttle on the carb. So now that it's set at full throttle pressure when the secondary is full open she runs with full power. Can you imagine, the previous original owner never got past the primary in 30 years of owning this truck????? I knew this I6 should have had more power. I nearly got second gear rubber when it shifted today.
