Cig. lighter delete plug

The other day I was in a wrecking yard and came across a cig. lighter delete plug. It is plastic and black. My question is how common are these, I have never seen one before.

Re: Cig. lighter delete plug

back in the day they were as common as parking lot gravel.
Most have popped out of the dash, fallen on the floor, and out the door onto the ground by now though.
The thing is, hardly anyone wants one now. If you got it, and it was in good shape, I could see maybe getting 5.... MAYBE 10 bucks out of it.

Re: Cig. lighter delete plug

My truck still has one. I'm considering putting a lighter socket in for power, but modifying the plug to cover it when it's not in use to keep the original look.

Re: Cig. lighter delete plug

I was digging through my toolbox and found my original plug. I cleaned it up and put it back in. I think it makes it kinda neat since you don't see many of them.

Mine's black plastic. I've seen similar ones offered on eBay. Mine has teeth marks on it from where someone tried to remove it with pliers. Can't imagine why they did that since you can pop them out from the back.

Re: Cig. lighter delete plug

My 67 has a black plastic one also. I will be reinstalling mine 'cuz it fits the vibe I'm going for: factory stripper. My truck also came factory with just one sun visor, no passenger side holes, just dimples.

I have never seen a metal delete for the lighter. Hard plastic, and rubber are the only 2 i have seen.
