The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Its a slow transformation, but here is my 86' dually so far.

new carb, plugs, wires, cap + rotor, vacuume advance, air filter, battery, oil, tranny fluid + filter, rear tires, front calipers + lines and a rear hard brake line, along with a few other odds and ends. I also re-wired the trailer harness in the bed of the truck.

Here are some updated pictures of the beast, haha.

Thanks man! It's getting there slowly! Now that it gets dark a bit later, I have had some time to actually work on it.

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

As for pics of the crawler.... Haha, ask and ye shall recieve! (I have TONS)
I don't have many action shots. My dad has most of them on his computer, since he takes the pics while I'm driving haha.

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Haha, I agree! No tire coverage laws in NY, so I took advantage!

Gonna give the truck a test this weekend! Gotta tow the Jeep to Vermont for an event! I'll let you guys know how it does!

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Well I had the Jeep all loaded up and ready for the wheeling trip! I took it for a test run (first time actually towing with this truck) and I blew a radiator hose backing back up my driveway. Needless to say I was pissed and decided that I have a little more work to do to the rig before I go pulling too far. I have a BIG trip planned for next month, so I am going to be working double time on this truck to get it ready!!!! Plus, even with the 454, it was a DOG! I need more power.... An intake, RV cam and headers are in order to get it pulling a little better.

Since pics are liked on forums, here you go haha.

Thanks guys! The CD player is on the priority list for sure! Haha, the factory radio is working well, but the speakers are blown and the reception leaves a bit to be desired.

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Since the speakers are blown you will be needing new ones and the stock 4x10s aren't all that great and sometimes hard to find. So why not upgrade to 6x9s? Here's how!

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Thanks man! I was going to start looking for some info on the swap to do this weekend. I have a big crawling event the 2nd week of May for the Jeep. Some crisp tunes would make the trip MUCH better! 3 hours of only listening to the exhaust gets old quick!

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Time for some updates!

New stereo! (the speakers were fine, the stereo was too beat to power them, haha)

I also threw in a sub and an amp.

I painted the wheels up nicey nice...

Then I hooked it up to a small trailer and put a quick 62 miles on.

Re: The crawler hauler (jeep puller) so far.

Thanks man! I also put on a tailgate during the week. Got the guts out of a dented up older gate and installed them in the newer stamped shell. The only downside is that the new tailgate is some thin steel! Better than nothing though.
