Some pics of my truck

Just wanted to post my progress! Hopefully be done in time to cruise the summer months away....

Thanks to everyone here, I have hurdled many obstacles during the build.

This place is great!

Thanks guys!! I dropped the front with 2 1/2 inch drop spindles, someone had already cut the coils, not sure how much exactly, they made a nice clean cut, the truck still rode good, so I figured I'd just leave them. I flipped the rear axle, c notched it, had the rear leafs rearched, and then decided I still needed one more inch in rear, so I put a one inch block under the springs. I figure I'll still get another 1/2 inch drop in rear after the rearched springs settle. The wheels are 16" Boyd Coddingtons, with Radial T/As. Wanted some 17s, but I got this set for 600.00 from a buddy, and I couldn't pass them up. Plus, I decided I really liked how they looked. I tubbed the rear though, and eventually would like some even wider to fill the tubs.

As far as the color goes, I'm not sure what yellow it is. I took the cab and front clip off of a longbed chevy I bought at an auction, I loved the shade of yellow, so I just had a digital color match done, and will paint the whole truck the same yellow again. So, all I have is a formula. PPG is calling it Sunburst yellow I think.

Thanks again guys!!

By the way.........72 Mario.......if that is your truck in your avatar, I really like it. It was the source of much inspiration for me to build a truck.

You've got yourself a nice ride started. I actually thought that the truck in 72 Mario's avatar was your truck. I was going to ask it before I read your last reply.

Nice truck dude! Is the engine painted same color or rattle can? My engine is the same color using VHT but is starting to peel off after 3 yrs of daily driving. How did you paint yours before I pull mine to start over.

Jay........The engine is the same paint I used on the truck itself. When I had the engine built, I told them to just leave the block bare. I then degreased it, sealed it with a 2 part sealer, and then base/cleared it. I did the same to my GTO 3 years ago, and it is still holding well. Much better than a rattle can.
