Innovative Radiator Overflow--Watcha got?

Would like to see some ratty excuses for a radiator overflow. Bottles, cans, jugs (gigity). Anything but lame white plastic out of a late model sedan. I've got nothing now except for the asphalt and I'm not as ingenious as most of you are. Thanks!

Re: Innovative Radiator Overflow--Watcha got?

One of the truck mags. had a picture of a guy that used an aluminum drink bottle (the kind used by back packers) looked good polished.

Put it in the "a good idea to have it" category. 68s had a rubber hose clipped to the side of the rad to dump the overflow on the ground. In case you're not at the strip, you can create your own water box.

Re: Innovative Radiator Overflow--Watcha got?

I have no idea if it's required or not. I would suspect with all the hippies and tree huggers, that it's a law in some states. Not a bad idea I suspect.

DT1.....too innovative.

Someone should tell Toyota they're putting the engines in there sideways! Just kidding. Where did you get that overflow? Is it glass or clear plastic?

Re: Innovative Radiator Overflow--Watcha got?

Some people use a window washer bottle mounted on the opposite side of the original one.

Most auto parts stores have a large capacity universal one that can be used, it is not unique, but will work.

There was a thread on here a year or so about this subject.

AFCO sells a nice sized aluminum recovery tank. I have one on my '72 GMC 4X4.
