Hey guys can you recommend a repair or assembly manual for my 66. Is it the 63 and 66 supplement? Thanks

Re: manuals

Wouldn't hurt to get the factory assembly manual also. It has loads of info.
They're around $30

Re: manuals

just to clarify (i hope...), for the factory "repair" manual - you need the 63 "shop" manual, and the 66 "shop" manual supplement. The "assembly" manual is a single 60-66 document. Good deals noted above, but generally speaking, the usual suspects carry all 3 (LMC, Classic Industries, etc etc). If you're gonna get them all (and I would) - you might save a little in shipping by getting them all in one place in one order. they're all great books - but I sure wish the Assembly Manual was a little more well organized. I pretty much have to start at page 1 and go through the whole book every time I go to look for how something is supposed to go together. But, the good news is that it's almost always in there somewhere! If I had half a clue, I'd start yellow-sticky-ing the repeat pages I go to... But apparently I do not.

Re: manuals

You can drive yourself crazy with the information that was available for these trucks, but may I extend you some advise, there's not a single Book, Album, Manual, Catalog, Binder,Communication Kit, Parts Book, Service Bulletin, Factory Assembly, Truck Data Book, Body & Chassis Manual, Advertisement, Training Manual, Chassis Builders Instructions, Pamphlet, Mailing, Poster, Hollander Interchange, Custom Features Album, Silver Book, Flat Rate Schedule, Engineering Features, Record or Film, that will provide you with as much insight as the advise you'll get from this site. It may not always come as you would like it, and there will be a little bickering sometimes about whether the answer is true or not, but it always works out in the wash. You'll enjoy your shop manual but it doesn't have all the answers, some may never be answered or answerable.

Thumbs up Re: manuals

Here's a good place to get factory shop manuals, assembly manuals and other factory literature, they have both books and CDs.

Very True - This becomes more and more evident with everything I do on my 66.
I think I looked at my Shop Manual twice, maybe three times since I got it.
This place is consistently where I come for answers.
