Looks great. I'm a sucker for painted steel wheels. I need to find a set of 6 lug 15x8's for mine and do the same thing.

Re: New shoes for the 1970 Blazer!

Had those rims for over 4 years waiting for this time. Two of them were NOS with old kelsey stickers still on them. One of them did not balance well so we will check it a little later. I have 2 more of these wheels but they have a little bump in them that needs to be hammered out.

My Lord, man. the absolute period perfect rims and tire combo. those 16.5's fill the wells up so well. sooooo happy you COULDN'T find caps. I love the bare steel rim look. can't wait to get down there and see her in person.

beautiful, beautiful work. I bow to you, sir.

All it needs now is a white top to set the wheels off even more.

The newly painted white top is in the garage now undergoing a re-weatherstripping and window installation. It is the very same color as the wheels and I can't wait to see them togather either!

It is #504 medium olive green, a 1970 truck color from GM. My paint supply guy had to mix it however from a color swatch and ashtray. I think he did a great job with it. It was a Dupont product, all I know.

Sweet. More pics please after the top is put on??? I want to do the same to mine when I find a set of decent wheels. I'm thinking it would set it off a bit more. For some reason I just can't really get into the aluminum wheel look on this Blazer. Doesn't seem to fit in....

Re: New shoes for the 1970 Blazer!

I will do more pics when top is on and will do a complete bunch of pics when done... I agree with you about the aluminum wheels. I will likely have the seats back and be waiting for the carpet!

Sorry to say, I'm not a fan of the steel wheels, but those tires are great and that paint job is Awesome!! The tires really fit the wells good and fill it out.
