Turn Signal Cam in wrong spot

My turn signals are not self cancelling in one direction so I pulled the steering wheel off to see what is going on and found the green cam is in the wrong spot, which means I need to disconect the steering shaft turn it to the correct spot and reconnect, what is the easiest way to do this ?
I'm hoping I don't have to drop out the steering box

Re: Turn Signal Cam in wrong spot

Aus, you may have 2 seperate problems. First, is the steering wheel upside down? It only goes on one way. If it's wrong (180 out) disconnect the shaft right under the power booster, pry it back and rotate 180 degrees Does the horn work? There is a hole for the canceling cam that comes up thru the wheel. I am almost 100 percent sure that there is nothing wrong with the colunm itself. There are 2 springs on the signal light switch that cancel the turn and they break all the time. Remove the lock plate and take a look you'll see them right on top in plain sight. They are circular with a tail about 1 inch long. One is for left and one for right. I don't know which is which. I usually change them both of one should fail. Jim

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.
