Both trucks look very nice. I dont think you could go wrong with either one. But I am a little biased torwards the lowered shortbed.

Thats a tough trade. I love the SWB but that LWB is super clean. So you got the Vette thrown on to sweeten the deal too...

Re: new to me truck

thanks for the comments....

the swb really needed more work...seat, dash pad, carpet, a/c was not all installed, needed radiator, collectors on the headers were messed up, exhaust needed work, the rear flip kit needed work too, and the heater core was shot...

the lwb needs a glove box lock/knob... a/c needs a little charge... needs drive belts...

i have never owned a lwb before, but this one is very clean, and only needs small things to be a very nice truck....it will also roast the tires off from a stop hahahaha!!!

it was a hard trade, but the lwb is cleaner/closer to stock/ and needs fewer repairs $$$ I never even got to drive the swb, put the engine in, started it, then my brother drove it off...

no, the vette was not thrown it... a bunch of friends and i have bought them recently, due to the lowered price.... they are a lot of car for the money.... very nice C5's are $15-23k.... the ones we have were 18-21k...good prices for a great car

With the amount of work the SWB needed, It sounds like you came out ahead, Dig those BB's too....

i agree i think you came out on the better end of that deal.of course both of my trucks are longbeds so im kinda biased as i prefer longbeds.i would kick a nice SWB out of the driveway just a longbed would be my first choice.

Re: new to me truck

Both are nice trucks.

I have found I can just do more with longbeds so that is what I look for in a truck. As much as I love the looks of the short beds I just find that the runs to Home Depot go easier with a longbed truck. I'm sure there are others that disagree.

If you can afford to drive the 454 you will love it. That is a lot of power under that hood. Use it for good.
