No. Matching 71 swb 4wd cheyenne super 402bb....

Found another one to replace my stolen one from eight or nine years ago. How few are they? When I had my first one in better than good condition in 2001-02 a guy offered me 15k for it and I laughed! haven't been able to get to the guys shop to talk turkey with him it is is pretty good shape, small hole in drivers side floor and couple of pinholes in drivers rocker. Other than that no rot anywhere else to speak of. Has buckets with console and full guage cluster, a/c works, etc........ what do I do?

Umm, if your into the numbers matching game on these trucks like muscle cars, I'd advise to walk away. If you want, what sounds to be a very nice truck, it sounds great. There were no Big Block 4x4's in our years, until 73' on up. Trevor

Actually, GM did not produce a 4X4 truck with a big block until at least the late '70s, probably into the early '80s.

Re: No. Matching 71 swb 4wd cheyenne super 402bb....

I just paid well under 10k for my 71 SWB 4x4, with a 454! Tight fit??? I guess y'all haven't played with the muscle cars then. My truck is a dream to work on compared to my big block 70 Nova!

As for your deal, big deal if the numbers don't match. These aren't muscle cars and it wouldn't be real difficult to find a 70 or 71 date coded SBC to drop in to it. If its a nice truck and has a decent price, buy it!
