lower control arms

i want to order some lower control arms from airbagit but will they work or fit with the stock upper arms?
the lower arms i want to get have the bag bracket already but i dont know if they will fit what do u think?

i think you should just buy control arms from porterbuilt or suicidedoors, ive heard bad things about airbagit.com

I just checked the price over at Airbagit and since they sell them for $1000 I would agree with the above post and say use Porterbuilt or SD. They will cost you the same amount and you will be better off.

i understand what your saying but i really just wanted to get the lower arms and i wanted to know if they would work with the stock upper arms

Tubular lowers should work fine with stock uppers.

It was the uppers and lowers for $1,000. At that price I would recommend a more reputable company such as SD or Porterbuilt.

If we have been over it once, we have been over it a thousand times, including just last week:

It's buyer beware when it comes to AIM, Airbagit, chassis tech and all the other names they do bussiness as. The parts are questionable at best (if you get them) and the customer service is even worse.

I was thinking of airbagit cause they come with airbags that would save some cash.
Were do u guys recomend for lower arms that are ready for bags?

you can get them from either porterbuilt or sd they are both ready for bags they are both equally badass porterbuilt comes with machines bearings instead of squeaky rubber bushings and are 10x better quality then airbagit.com

x2,...Stay away from Airbagit.com/Chassis Tech/Aim.
Do a Google search. Plenty of problems with their products and customer service.
Use Porterbuilt Street Rods or SD.

Yes. all the companies sell them as lowers, uppers, or both.
All new bushings and balljoints included.
Some are powdercoated,... some are sold bare steel. (cheaper)

i talked to nate from porterbuilt earlier, talk about customer service! he has great advice and when i called he actually told me several ways to lay frame without having to spend hardly any money at all, i was kind of in the same boat you are, and the advice he gave me was that if you recess your lower bag mounts just a little bit into your stock lower control arms you will lay frame on a 27" tire no problem and that way you can save money on control arms. if you have any questions you can give nate a call he is a super guy and will help you out with any questions you have

ok i understand what ur saying so i would cut the hole in the lower arm and weld in the bracket but let the bracket go in a little?
oh and when putting a dropmember in front is it nesesary to cut a notch in the front part of the frame?

I am not sure what the answer is to the first question is so I will leave that for someone else. As for the second question, yes, there is a small notch that is included in the kit that will need to be made forward of the crossmember for the mustang II steering gear/rack.

ive seen lots of people use a large diameter piece of pipe and cut a hole in the control arm and then yes it would sit inside the control arms and let your frame go lower

You would make a recess in the lower arm so that the bag sits lower. Most people weld in a piece of 8" diameter pipe and then put a plate on the bottom to mount the bag to.

so i cant use the original steering rack with nates dropmember?
i have to get that mustang steering rack?

oh and dpes anyone have pics of that 8inch pipe welded on the arms?

The 6x-87 trucks don't use a steering rack. The DM requires a MII R&P.
