CL Score

Hey guys,

I've been hangin' out mainly in the 60-66 section so far but I picked up a '77 Scottsdale today so I guess I'll be hangin' here now too...

I'm still in disbelief over this. Spotted this on CL early last week, test drove it yesterday, and bought it today. As you can see it is a pretty clean C-10. It has been redone at some point, and is still in pretty good shape, some hidden rust but for a rust belt truck it's not bad. So anyway, I was pretty pumped that I picked this up for $500 I got it home and saw on the options list that it was supposed to be an Inline 6 truck but it's got a V8 in it. Tried to check the code on the front of the block but it had been decked at some point and whoever had done it stamped their own codes into the block. So at that point I didn't know what it was.

So as I was cleaning it out I made my way to the glovebox, and lo and behold there's a packet of info about the reman 305 that had been installed in 2007! I'm happy about that..this is my new daily driver so gas mileage is a plus.

Anyway...just thought I'd share and at some point I'll start a build thread when I start fixing it up.

Re: CL Score

That's a pretty good buy for 500. If that hood is as good as it looks in the photos I probably would have paid half that just for the hood. I've been looking for one for ages and settled on a beater one I found.

Re: CL Score

Thanks again guys

Yep it didn't occur to me at first but then a friend pointed it out and I was like "oh yeah" lol. Turns out the gas tank is on the passenger's side....the driver's one opens to nothing.

At this point I don't mind...main priority is restoring the '66 while I drive this.

Anyone know how they decided what side of the truck the fuel tank would go? I had an '80 with the tank on the pass side, an '84 with it on the driver's....and a friend who's had a bunch of different ones (mostly '70s) I think had them on the driver's side. The '80 was a Canadian truck...maybe they had a different standard?
