I saw this on CL and was wondering if it would work on my 77k10. Looks like it puts the sinch up high out of harms way. I wonder if my 8274 would fit. I also wonder how strong of a mounting point it is. Appears to have only 4 bolts holding it on to the front of the frame rails?? Any input would be very helpful

Thanks

Re: ever seen this winch mount?

Its only going to be as strong as those four points. It looks like its the same as the bumper mounting holes. I'd go with some pretty good sized grade 8 bolts and you should be good to go.

Re: ever seen this winch mount?

usually on a full sized bumper you would see 2 additional mounts that tie into the (front) leaf spring hanger,to the left and right bumper (which this doesnt have). The only other weakness i can spot is how high it sits the winch. In theory its good to have you winch mounted as high as possible to keep it out of harms way but it seems like if you were stuck in a mud hole you would want your cable to pull the vehicle slightly upwards as well as forward... but then again I guess normal height is only about 6" lower than that... run it if the price is right..

Re: ever seen this winch mount?

the only dis-advantage is how high the winch sets on the mount, it puts excess stress on the frame horns and trys to twist them off the fraima friend had one back in highschool and didn't put the tie-in brackets on and pulled the front bumper and frame horns off the first time he got stuck and used the winch
