Is this part needed?
There is a brace that bolts to the left of the steering shaft on the drivers side inner fender. Is this really needed? I've stared at it for some time now and don't see why I need to put it back in, but maybe I'm missing the obvious.

it might be what does the brace bolt to on the other side? i dont recall having one like that in my 71

I think it's there to keep rigidity due to the cut out for the steering shaft.
Just a guess.

It simply connects one side of the inner to the other, nothing else. Is this not on all 67-72 models? I think it's there to keep rigidity due to the cut out for the steering shaft. Considered that as well, but I tried to move the inner on both sides of the steering shaft and its very stout. |
