1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
What have you guys done with the emblem when using a reproduction grill? Any pics? Mine just has a square in the middle... I want to put a bowtie there, but Im afraid its gonna look like crap. I'll shop around for a bowtie if anyone has suggestions.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
I am pretty sure that is very similar to the original grille. The emblem should unbolt, or you can buy a new one, I am almost positive it is still available from GM.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
That looks pretty much like my grille. i also did the swap to mine. For my first emblem the body shop used some kind of epoxy to put it on and it eventually fell off. So, I bought another one, and this time I used double sided 3M tape, It seems to be holding up much better.
BTW none of the emblems I ordered had the option to bolt it on..

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
Nice truck! I was wondering if you were happy with the overall quality and fit/finish of the aftermarket grill. How does it compare with OEM? Thanks.

Hey Roadrage, mind sharing what drop you are running, looks like 5/7 but it is hard to tell.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
5 1/2'-7" Wild drop kit from http://www.performancesuspension.com... Since these pics I added 1" lowering blocks to the rear (to level it out).---> I didn't use the upper bolts on the rear shackles because you have to trim a little sheetmetal from the bed.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
Thanks! In those pics they were 20" Smoothies with 255/35/20's and 1 1/4" spacers in the rear (sold to Tow Me (Glen). Now it's running 15" Ralleys 255/60/15's and 1 1/4" spacers and it's sitting just about perfect.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
Are you running 1 1/4 spacers all the way around or just on the back? Why run the spacers? The reason I ask is I am going to be putting a 5/7 drop on my SWB and am going to have to either run the 15x8 AR wheels I have or the rallys I have until I can afford the 20's I want. I have heard that I could run into rubbing issues on my LCA with 15" wheels.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
Just spacers in the rear because it brings the rear tire right out to the fender well where it looks sooo much better. Yeah I think my LCA may have rubbed on my wheel weights, so when I just had them balanced, they static balanced them with tape weights on the inside.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
Where did you get your spacers? I don't think I can run them on my body dropped truck, but my crew cab could use some.

Re: 1991 Chevy Front Clip Conversion
I bought them off a guy on ebay, I believe an Ebay Store, I'll see if I can find it. The way I figured what size I needed was by researching google or maybe here to find the tracking width distances between the front and the rear and bought the corresponding spacers. When I measured them recently they were between 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" but closer to 1 1/4". I'll try and find the exact size I ordered and where.
Update: cjbargins was the Ebay seller, not positive on the size yet..
