14bff and 15" rim questions
Im lookin for some 15" rims that will fit on a 14bolt. I have been told numerous different things from "you cant fit a 15" rim on a 14bolt, the drum ,wont clear, to you need 2 1/4" backspace....which is it? Please help. The 14bolt is out of a 77-78 1 ton. Drum brake, with the big hubs. I have 15" allied type 97's on the front in 6 lug, Im lookin for something similar in 8 lug, if not identical. Any suggestions?

never heard of anyone having a problem with a 15" on the rear, I know if you want to run 15" on a Dana 60 FRONT you need to grind the calipers abit.
I have a set of 15x10- 8 bolts, if it's not pissing rain in the morning I'll go out and see if they fit

I had a set of 15" 8 lugs on my old 97 2500 HD (basically a 1 ton) with 4 1/4" offset wheels and they fit fine. Also had them on my old 89 GMC that I SAS'd that had the slip on drums, they were close but fit.

15x10 8 lugs all the way around, ground the calipers up front to clear the rims other than that bolt and go

I have never heard of an issue with 15" wheels fitting on a 14 bolt FF rear.
Fitting the front can be a bit problematic though. I had 15s on the truck pic below, but they were two different brands of wheel. The rears were American Racing and because of the back-space, they would not fit the front. The wheels on the front were Jackman, which AFAIK are not even made anymore. The main thing was that they had less back-space...missing the calpiers and tie-rod ends. Not the greatest pic, it is a scan from a snapshot from sometime in the summer of '82
