need help with a 71 4X4
I need help i have a 71 1/2ton 4x4 the problem is that the axle joint is broke and i want to know if you can use late model frontend parts in this frontend? heres a pic to show whats broke.. I have a couple frontends out of 1/2ton trucks in the years of 73 to 87.

The inner axle will have to be for the dana 44, but the outer can come from a dana 44 or a ten bolt.

correct statement... I found this out when I did my swap... If you have other axles then you could also just swap the entire axle, really just depends on how good the compenents are (brakes, gears, u-joints etc..)
