Special Olympics
My 12 y/o daughter brought home a bronze medal. She absolutley worked her a$$ off for it. It's weird. I dont see her as being different or special. Just a cool kid. Bless her heart, she ran around to get autographs from a few Seahawks players for me. She got Justin Forsets' sig three times on the same piece of paper. We just watched the local news and she was on TV. I'm a very proud dad. Just wanted to share a blurp in life. Sunday she & I are headed out to watch some 1/4 mile drags.

Re: Special Olympics
I have a brother who is mentally retarded and is confined to a wheelchair. He is non communicative and is severely physically disabled also. Once a year they have a Special Olympics that he goes to and participates in the games. Its very hard to tell the emotions of people with his type of disability but he seems to enjoy the day out and all the fan fare. Special Olympics is a great thing.
Congrats to your daughter for her bronze medal !

Re: Special Olympics
congrats to your daughter.its also very cool to hear of your positive attitude towards her .in my life ive known various people with various physical and/or mental disabilities and they were all some of the coolest people ive ever known.my first wife was friends with a girl nsmed shelly who was physically disabled i forget what her exact disability was but over time i too became friends with shelly and one of the worst days of my life was when i found out shelly had passed away from complications of her disability/illness associated with it.ill always remember that no matter what was going on with her she always had a good attitude and never really had anything bad to say.

Re: Special Olympics
We just got home from the track. Had a great time. My buddy got his time down to 12.17. Great time & crappy food. Kid slept on the bench seat for a couple hours. I guess she was worn out. Thanks for the cool things you all have said! Very nice. Life's good.
