what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

We didnt do anything truck related. Wife and i went to Atlantic City NJ yesterday on their dime and ended up actually winning. We had a nice dinner at the steak house and i played roulette for a couple of hours and it didnt cost us anything.
Friday we worked all day and today well we had to clean tomorrow is the last half of her last chemo treatment so hopefully she will remain in remission
How about you all???

Re: what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

Really wanted to drive the toy home this weekend, but had to leave it in my shop again.
We took the seat and headliner out and ran it over to the trim shop Thursday, should get it back Tuesday or so. Got the pinion seal replaced and ujoints done during the week. I took the carpet out yesterday and power washed it (came out damn nice actually) and reinstalled it today. Picked up a extra set of rally wheels and trim, painted them up yesterday and today. Been a while since I did any painting and such myself, my fingers are bleeding from the sanding I did, now I remember why I hound my guys to wear gloves. At least I wore a respirator this time when I sprayed, last time I went with the theory of "only be in there a minute" and hacked for a month.
Can't wait to get the seat back so I can drive it a little. Wife does not want me bringing it home during the week, it has loud exhaust and wakes the boy up when I leave at 6am in the morning.

went to the Texas festival at the Mesquite rodeo and entered my truck in the indoor two day car show it looked so cool inside and came home with a class award and had a lot of free food from hooters and cici's, and I got a lot of ideas
I decided to order this when I got home last night

Wrote up a to-do list for the interior and misc. things. Reinstalled the lumber control knob that I found sitting behind the seats (aftermarket seats). Cleaned out all the empty water bottles from behind the seat, etc. Also installed my single beauty ring, lol.

no real work done but I did get the front wheels on the K5! Rear tires will be in tomorrow but here's a shot of the fronts for now. Got an email from Nathan at porterbuilt and my air bag parts will be shipping this week as well as some brackets for the 4-link!!

Helped a friend get his 84 running, nice sounding truck. Bone stock 305 with Summit headers and dual exhaust kit.

Cut grass and played with my new cell phone, Blackberry Tour.

Worked on the new detached garage (year long project). Started drywall and the work bench. Should be done by next weekend. Then, I get the truck out of the old barn. I hate sheet-rocking.

Re: what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

flaming did you order the wheel already? I know they are pretty expensive but i have had luck finding both of the ones i got on my rides. The one i got on my truck is a colorado customs that i got off ebay for 75 bucks. The other one i got from my impala was 250 also on ebay. I would look on there before you end up spending 450 bucks on that particular wheel by the time you get the trim ring, horn button, and adapter.

Re: what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

As for me Saturday I woke up earlysince i stayed over the in-laws and went to the gas station thats down the street from their house that has 110 octane and gave my little truck a treat then took it for a shake down run since i had just gotten the tranny back

sorry bad picture but i was trying to multi task. It still had a little bit more but i was getting to the toll booth.
After that I went by the shop and washed the truck and went home to play with my newborn.
Today i woke up and cleaned up my interior after i put on my new billet pedals, rear view mirror, and door lock knobs.

yes I did, it was $350 shipped, I saw the ones on eBay but the entire wheel is flames and it looked uncomfortable to drive with it

I did the same however I used their Mega Mat line. In the process I figured out I need to replace all of the weather stripping. Anyone know where to get a complete kit?

Re: what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

I pulled the trans outta my dually....twice, since the one that was "good" wasn't what it was cracked up to be.
Luckily a freind had another out of a motorhomw with low miles...so I got my truck back on the road....
Had to "test" 'er out by pulling home another freind's Impala, as I'm putting in another engine, since the current one is bad. Got the engine pulled shortly after this pic...

productive weekend! installed the new HEI unit, plugs, and wires. Also removed the smog pump and freed up some room in the front of the engine.

Re: what did you get done 4/25/10 NFL draft edition

I did a compression check on the motor and inspected the plugs at the same time. #2 and #8 cylinder are suspect but the rest were good. #1,3,4 all read 140psi and 5,7,6 read 130 psi #2 read 120psi and #8 was 110psi. I am looking for a vortec 350 to rebuild and slap in for the time being until I figure out which route i want to go for the "real" motor. I also flushed the radiator and reset the timing, runs better and cooler now.
