Pics of my bed (fresh out of the paint booth!)

Here's some pics we got of my bed on Saturday just after we got it all bolted together. The weather isn't too good, so it looks like I gotta wait till Saturday to bolt it on...oh well.

Very nice I like the fact that you painted the Bed Strip the same colour as the truck.

Looks fantastic! Lots of hard work went into that one.

I just love paint pics.

thanks guys.

To answer all the questions, the simplest answer is Mar-K. Everything but the fenders and wood is from Mar-K. The tailgate is available from Mar-K. I did get a latch kit from Mac Products which is pretty sweet. I'll post pics of that when we put the gate on.

As far as the wood, we did that ourselves. Any major bed wood manufacturer guarantees the wood from warpage, etc. for 14 days...plus they're in excess of 250 bucks! We spent 80 bucks on the wood from a cabinet makers store and cut the grooves and everything ourselves. It was pretty easy.

barn9 - I'm from Chickasha...where are you located? I'll probably drive my truck out to the Chickasha Swap Meet later this year and show it to Kenny from Kenny's trucks. He's who we bought most of the parts off of.

If you guys have any more questions, feel free to ask....I love talking about my truck as you can tell.

Riley

actually....

The color is Sunset Orange Metallic...

My digital camera doesn't pick up colors really well at night, and that's when we took the pictures. It does it best when it's outside in the sunshine.

CHROME STEPS! We found those at a swap meet...I have no idea what it cost to get 'em chromed, but we got 'em off the guy for like 50 bucks...not too bad a deal if ya ask me.

I'll take pics after we bolt it up on the truck and I'll be sure to pull it outside before I do so the color will show up better.

Here's a pic of the truck outside.

You can see the color a little better in this one than all the pics of it inside.

Oh, I will

Looks like the roads are gonna be clear enough tomorrow to drive the truck back down to the bodyshop to put the bed on. Finally, after 4 years and 11,500 bucks later...IT'S FINALLY DONE!!! I'll be sure to post pics on here after we set the bed on.

paint

Kyle - The paint is PPG, and yes, it is base coat/clear coat. If you've got a PPG collision center in your town or in a nearby town, they should have the paint code and should be able to mix it up there. If not, any good auto body paint store should be able to mix it for you.
