Where to find good mirrors?

I bought some el cheapo mirrors off ebay and they're already starting to rust, I need some good chrome ones that aren't going to start rusting in a few months.
I haven't checked LMC or Classic Industries yet, but I'm sure they have them just wondering if there's anywhere else I should look.

Well I just bought a set off LMC and they are nice made well and look really really nice. They have them in Chrome Locally Advanced Auto has similar Mirrors that looked decent to. They both were around $25.00 per mirror.

Re: Where to find good mirrors?

lmc by far has the best dumbos. I got mine there and they look really good. Everywhere EXCEPT lmc sells universal mirrors-- the base isn't left-right specific. The lmc ones have left and right correct bases that fit the doors correctly and the finish is very nice....

Re: Where to find good mirrors?

I got the ones from LMC, simply because they were the only place I found true convex and concave glass. I can not be any more disappointed in them though, cheap reproductions and the passenger mirror is very funky, the convex is just wrong in it is the only way I can put it. Very well might just toss the originals back in it and get the glass guy to cut new glass for them both and live with concave on both sides.

Re: Where to find good mirrors?

I don't know about the convex mirrors, I got the regular ones for both sides.... And then I put the little round mirrors on them.

Now I think about it, While the mirrors themselves looking nice, the only thing is the gasket underneath them looks a little crappy, but I haven't seen any dumbos other than OE that the gaskets looked good. Also I picked up a pair or OE gaskets from a junkyard and they do NOT fit the LMC mirrors properly.

Re: Where to find good mirrors?

Hmm I'll check local auto parts stores, then with other places. I want some that fit snug against the doors, my current mirrors don't fit well at all and I hate them. Wish I woulda never sold my originals.

Re: Where to find good mirrors?

Summit has inexpensive round and square mirrors by CIPA. There $8.75 each and the look great. I've got a set of the round style on my 79' GMC and I love them!

I wasn't happy with what they were made out of. Plastic mirrors on a truck don't do it for me.
