Five-speeds were common. What are you looking for?

It's not a swap, but I have a factory 5-speed in my '91.

Re: five or six speed

I have a NV3500 in my 90. For some reason it wants to be shifted slow or it will grind in 2nd and 3rd. If swapping from an automatic or changing the master and slave cylinders I highly recomend bleeding the system with a vacume pump.

Might be. Some things I've read say that the NV3500 didn't start until '92 or '93, but the previous years are still New Ventures and use the same housing.

I've abused it some in its younger years. The clutch blew shortly after I bought the truck in '96. It's been to the tranny shop one other time after that for a rebuild and new master and slave cylinders. Since the last visit to the shop, I haven't really been hard on it, although my third gear synchro is going.

Re: five or six speed

If that is the case, and if those transmissions were ever a GM-install behind a small block, it seems to me that it shouldn't be a big deal....well, sorta. Seems that before I could do that a whole pile of unobtanium would have to fall into my lap.....unobtanium = $$$.

Then, a driveshaft would probably be on the short list of "must-haves".

But, ain't no biggee.
