wiring problems... no key yet all accessories work.

I realized this awhile back so i simply removed my radio. It just stopped, however it did it today when i was messing with my windshield wipers. they have a personality all their own. some days the work like they should, otheres they go until suddenly stopping half way up the window. also when this happens the washers dont squirt for whatever reason. while trying to get the wipers to calm down, i took the keys out and realized the wipers still going to work on a dry window and my radio playing. also the windows poll up and down without a key. what is going on?

There was a recall on the module that controls the wipers. This problem is common on these trucks and you are not the first one to have it. There are people who say you can simply re-solder the joints on the circuit board. For those who are unsure of how/what to do, there are replacement boards at various automotive parts houses and dealerships. It's an easy fix, too, if you just replace it.

Nope,I believe he is talking about the circuit board that runs the wipers..

You have to pull the wiper motor and take off the cover plate to see the board...

You do NOT have to pull the wiper motor. There are three or four screws that hold the squarish cover on the assembly. When you remove those screws and pull that cover off, you'll see the back of the circuit board. I don't remember specifically how it is attached...one screw or two....and a plug, but it's not a big deal. The story is that some of the solder joints (connections) are not as good as they should be. That's probably because of what's known as a "cold" solder joint. If you are comfortable around a soldering gun or iron, you already know the drill. If not, you might want to look at replacing your theoretically bad board with a new one.

Your right!!!

I find for the price of a board compared to the whole assembly I replace the entire unit....
