idea for hood hinges
would it be possible to do away with the springs and just use a prop rod to hold the hood up? I would like to build a custom set of hood hinges for my 68 and do away with the proble these trucks have with the hood sitting up in the back. Has anyone tried this?

It would be quite heavy to lift up. These trucks use real metal, unlike cars that actually have prop rods.

The of the hood sitting up in the back problem has to do with worn out hinges I am in the middle of that part of the project now I have no springs on the hinges and it sits really nice> I am going to GM to get a new pair this week .and it's not heavy to lift the hood. Hope that helps. Later Mario
Update I bought a new set from GM $87 Can. per side.
