Short box length 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton??

What size box came on 1500 crew cabs? I think there were 2 shorbox versions. a 5'5" on 1/2 tons and a 6'5" on 2500's? Here is a pic of a 07 GMC 1500 that my buddy is looking at. Did 1/2 tons come with the longer shortbox or was there only this? How can you tell by looking?

Re: Short box length 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton??

The 1500 crew cabs came with a 5.5' super short bed I believe. The 1500HD's, and 2500HD's come with the normal 6.5' short bed

what john said, and if you look at the space between the wheel well and the cab inside the bed, you can just tell how short it really is

That is the 5.5. The only 1500 crew cabs with the 6.5 (regular) bed were the 1500HDs and they weren't really 1500s.

I believe 1500HD came with 8 bolt wheels, while 1500's have 6 bolt wheels.

Therefore if it has 8 bolt wheels it will be 6.5 or 8 ft bed.
